A Disco Garden Party Wedding at Twelve 29
Avery & Silas | April 13, 2025 | Lannon, Wisconsin
Silas and Avery threw a Disco Garden Party wedding that was as whimsical, eclectic, and multifaceted as they are. Traditional Celtic ceremony, pizza and ice cream, a photoshoot with their 15-year-old rescue pittie Maia, a night full of their favorite music, cars graffiti'd with window markers, technical difficulties before the first dances, and a giant parachute over the dance floor. Yes, really.
A Disco Garden Party in Lannon
With no bridesmaids and a dress code that encouraged guests to wear something colorful, comfy, and fun, Avery and Silas set the tone early: this was a party. Twelve 29 provided the perfect canvas for their vision—a space that could flex from heartfelt ceremony to high-energy dance floor without losing its charm.
Pick your cup for the night and keep it as a wedding favor! Brilliant!
A Love Story Built on Music
Music brought Avery and Silas together during the early days of the pandemic. After finally meeting in person, falling in love, and spending six months pretending it was “just a bit,” they eventually admitted what everyone else already knew.
The Vision
These two wanted the pride of creating most of the day from scratch while sticking to their budget—and they succeeded at both. They have varied interests and skills but enough overlap to make their best ideas work. The goal? For people to have FUN. And they did.
They Made Their Own Outfits
Very early on, Silas and Avery decided to make their wedding outfits themselves. With amateur experience and professional hubris, two broken sewing machines, a lot of hours, and some tears—they walked down the aisle and danced their hearts out in clothes they made with their own two hands. Incredible.
Portraits with Personality (and a Very Good Dog)
Before the ceremony, portraits focused on connection and authenticity rather than rigid posing. One very special guest joined the photos: their 15-year-old rescue pittie, Maia, who absolutely stole the show.
Graffiti!
Some surprises you plan. Others show up in the parking lot. Avery and Silas’s cars were lovingly (and enthusiastically) decorated by friends—pure Disco Garden Party energy.
The Florals (On a Budget)
Flowers on a budget? No problem. All you need is a Trader Joe's and a Jo-Ann Fabrics liquidation sale. Wait...
they taped their rings to the bottom of a random chair and this lucky winner became an instant Ring Bearer!
A Dance Floor Full of Surprises
As the night unfolded, things only got better. Pizza made on site by Flour Girl, homemade ice cream, favorite music, and a dance floor buzzing with energy carried the celebration forward.
The Flour Girls brought so much joy and love to the wedding through their amazing pizzas, ice cream and personalities!
Even technical hiccups before the first dances couldn’t slow things down - but it sure brought out some big laughs. I love this picture. Makes me laugh every time I see it.
The Giant Parachute
The best surprise of the night came from Silas's beloved sister, Emma, who snuck a giant parachute into the wedding. One of their favorite musicians, Rich Aucoin, uses a parachute in his live performances, and it was the perfect tribute to bring his energy and spirit to the dance floor. Absolutely iconic.
Their Advice
Push your date back six months to buy yourself more time. And hire a photographer who matches your energy, understands your vision, and makes your day even more special. (Their words, not mine—but I'm blushing.)
