An Intimate Fall Wedding at The Brix on Fox

Mylene & Manny | September 14, 2025 | Carpentersville, Illinois

Mylene and Manny got married at The Brix on Fox on a perfect September day. The industrial space was softened with tons of greenery and white florals, and the whole day had this beautiful emotional weight to it.

How They Met

These two met working together in healthcare years ago. They were friends first, and their relationship grew slowly over time—faith, patience, and a shared commitment to service shaped everything.

A Ceremony Centered on Family

Oh man, the ceremony. So many tears (mine included). Manny walked down the aisle alone, carrying a framed portrait of his mom. Then he waited at the altar for Mylene to walk down with her dad.

Ring bearers came next.

And then came the moment that stopped everyone: Mylene's mom, in a wheelchair, was escorted down the aisle by Mylene's sister as the flower girl.

They also honored tradition with El Lazo—the wedding cord ceremony symbolizing unity and two lives joining into one. Dr. Monica Rho officiated, and it was beautiful.

Getting Ready, Unfiltered

Getting-ready photos, individual portraits, family shots—we took everything slow and easy, making sure Mylene's mom and older relatives were comfortable the whole time.

100 years of good luck if a rainbow lands on your wedding dress, right?

After the wedding Manny asked Mylene why there were so many shoe pictures lol. Ummm obsessed with these simple beauties and that light!

Manny reading a card from Mylene before the ceremony. They waited to see each other until the ceremony.

whoops. another shoe photo.

Contrast, Balance, and Love

Mylene and Manny are total opposites. He loves the outdoors, dogs, whiskey, the Cubs, and country music. She loves city lights, hip hop, cocktails, the Bulls, and quiet moments of prayer.

Mylene and Manny are opposites in many ways. He loves the outdoors, dogs, whiskey, the Cubs, and country music. She loves city lights, hip hop, cocktails, the Bulls, and quiet moments of prayer. What binds them is deeper than preference: devotion, loyalty, and an unwavering love for their mothers.

That balance showed throughout the day—industrial textures softened by plants, romantic details paired with simplicity, tradition meeting modern style.

The Reception

The Reception

Cocktail hour flowed into dinner, toasts, and dancing. Real reactions, lots of laughter, genuine joy. Later, sparklers outside wrapped up a night full of meaning.

They planned this wedding in six months, but it was shaped by years of love and faith.

Mylene had her mother-daughter dance—lifting her mom from the wheelchair and holding her close.

And Manny? He did his mother-son dance alone with the portrait. I'm getting emotional just typing this.

As the evening darkened, there were sparklers outside, adding a quiet, festive close to a night full of meaning.

Final Thoughts

Mylene and Manny’s wedding was a reminder that the most powerful moments are often the simplest ones: a parent’s reaction, a shared glance, a loved one included in a way that feels true.

This was a day built around family and it was amazing!
